Brou Georges Kakou is a PhD (2001-2003) candidate at the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, Gifu University. After the DTS obtained at the Polytechnic Institute Felix Houphouet Boigny, Cote d’Ivoire, He worked for the implementation of small scale irrigation project from 1985 to 1991 for the Ministry of Agriculture where he specialized in design of small dams and irrigation system. From 1991 to 1997, he was recruited as instructor in charge of the module of irrigation water management by the Agricultural Machinery Training Project for Intensive Rice Cultivation, a JICA Project.

In 1997, he entered the Department of Biological Production system of Gifu University where he obtained the Master of Science in March 2000. Since April 2000, at the Department of Biological Environment Science of the United Graduate school of Agricultural Science, Gifu University, he is preparing to receive a PhD degree. In December 2000, at the international CIGR symposium he obtained a certificate of recognition for his presentation on slope stability analysis of Kobe landslide. He is author of Residual Strength of Colluvium and Stability Analysis of Farmland slope.

Brou Georges Kakou is member of The Japanese Society of Agricultural Engineering, The Japan Landslide Society, and The Japan Geotechnical Society.
