Nasim Uddin is an Assistant Professor Civil & Environmental Engineering at University of Alabama at Birmingham, Alabama, USA. He teaches geotechnical and other civil engineering courses, and conducts research on geotechnical engineering. Dr. Uddin’s current research focus areas include Lightweight Concrete, Survivability & Durability of Composites, and Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering. Dr. Uddin has over fifteen years of experience (research and industrial) in Earthquake Engineering and Structural Retrofitting. Dr. Uddin’s current sponsored research project includes Cost-effective VARTM Technology for Repair and Hardening Structures (Sponsored by Department of Transportation) and Novel FRP/Concrete Panel for Building Construction (sponsored by National Science Foundation). Dr. Uddin received his PhD degree in 1992 from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo; his M.S. in 1989 from University of Oklahoma and his B.S. in 1986 from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. He has written and presented his work extensively in various journals and conferences.
