Dr. Orhan Erol is a Professor at Middle East Technical University (METU), Department of Civil Engineering, Ankara, Turkey. After obtaining his B.S. degree in 1969 and M. S. degree in 1971 at METU, he was awarded a Ph.D. degree by Iowa State University in 1977.

Dr Erol's areas of interest are Swelling Soils, Partially Saturated Soils, Retaining Structures for Landslide Remediations, Stone Columns in Soft Ground.
