Stephanie J. Bialobok, Consulting Geologist

Experience

Ms. Bialobok's professional career began in 1976. As a consulting geologist, she is responsible for coordinating the firm's geological and environmental services.

Ms. Bialobok's duties have included performing environmental site assessments (ESAs), designing and supervising field programs, developing site-specific health and safety plans, field data evaluation, and site-specific geologic investigations for commercial, industrial, and municipal clients. Before becoming a consultant, Ms. Bialobok worked for the oil industry as an exploration geologist. She also worked for the US Department of Energy as Project Manager for their Waste Management Project.

Education

Ms. Bialobok holds a BA Chemistry and a MS Geology from West Virginia University. Ms. Bialobok has also completed the 40-hr OSHA training program for hazardous waste site workers and the 8-hr OSHA supervisory training program. She also has attended numerous continuing professional development conferences and seminars.

Qualifications

Ms. Bialobok is an active member of ASFE: Professional Firms Practicing In The Geosciences. She also serves on ASFE's Geoenvironmental Task Group that addresses key technical and business practice issues facing ASFE's member firms. Ms. Bialobok has coauthored technical papers relating to disposal and use of fluidized bed combustion wastes, client education in groundwater monitoring, site assessments for underground storage tanks (USTs), and developing Brownfield sites.

David E. Lourie, P.E., Consulting Engineer

Experience

Mr. Lourie began his professional consulting engineering career in 1979. Combining project experience with continued education has resulted in well-developed project leadership, execution, and management skills. Before forming Lourie Consultants in 1992, he spent 9 yr directing the technical and financial operations of an international consulting firm's multiple-office practice in Louisiana.

He has performed and supervised studies for a wide variety of onshore and offshore projects. His expertise has been applied to numerous environmental, geotechnical, and materials engineering and testing projects for industrial, commercial, and municipal clients. These services have included:

Mr. Lourie holds the BSCE and MSCE (with concentrations in Construction Management and Geotechnical Engineering) from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Mr. Lourie also has completed the 40-hr OSHA training program for hazardous waste site workers and the 8-hr OSHA supervisory training program.

Qualifications

Mr. Lourie is a registered professional engineer in Louisiana, a licensed water well driller, and he has been an adjunct associate professor at Tulane University and a visiting lecturer at McNeese State University. He is an active member of the Louisiana Engineering Society (Past President Lake Charles Branch), National Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers (Past President New Orleans Branch and Past Chairman Geotechnical Group), Consulting Engineers Council (Past President New Orleans Branch), ASFE: Professional Firms Practicing In The Geosciences, and Chi Epsilon. He has coauthored technical papers about: coal mine waste material disposal, using electric cone penetrometers, building large tanks on very weak soils, soil sampling, expansive clays, developing Brownfield sites, professional liability, alternate liners and caps for landfills, and ethics. He also serves on ASFE's Codes and Standards Committee.
